FREE Rabies Clinics - 11/9/24 & 1/11/25

The Bernards Township free rabies vaccination clinic is scheduled for Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. It will be held at the Bernards Township Public Works Garage 277 South Maple Avenue Basking Ridge, New Jersey 07920.

As a reminder all Bernards Township dogs and cats must be licensed, as per NJ statue 4:19-15.2a and Bernards Township Ordinance BH:10-5.2. All current dog and cat licenses expire on January 31st of each year. The licensing of animals is an important aspect of rabies and animal control. To download a license application, go to:

Please mail all pet licenses to the Bernards Township Health Department 262 S. Finley Ave Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.

In order for a license to be issued, the owner must present proof that a licensed veterinarian has vaccinated the dog / cat against rabies and that the duration of immunity from that vaccination extends through at least 10 months of the twelve-month licensing period. An exemption to the rabies inoculation requirement shall be granted if the owner presents written certification from a licensed veterinarian that the dog/cat cannot be vaccinated due to a medical condition or course of therapy.

The rabies expiration date for your pet can be found on your current Bernards Township dog/cat license.
